Wool Territory(ies)
The main objective of the Peninsulares project is the promotion of contemporary, Portuguese and Spanish textile art. The promoters are the cultural entities Indigo Proyectos (Lala de Dios) on the Spanish side, Ideias Emergentes / Bienal Contextile on the Portuguese side, and various Spanish regional and state associations.
The project is based on the idea of connecting Spain and Portugal, two territories in which the textile sector was, and still is, extremely important not only because of its financial scope, but also in the social, patrimonial and artistic spheres.
The Wool Territory(es) exhibition, curated by Lala de Dios (Indigo Proyectos) on the Spanish side, and by Cláudia Melo (Artistic Director of Contextile), on the Portuguese side, brings together works by Spanish and Portuguese artists, and it will take place at the Covilhã Wool Museum in Portugal from the 14th of July to the 30 of September 2023, and from the 25th of October to the 26th of November 2023 in El Brocense, Diputación de Cáceres, Spain.
