Gesture

The circle has always been the symbol of the eternal, of the infinite, because it has neither beginning nor end. But 88 lines represent the need to go further, to continue advancing despite doubts and difficulties.

This piece was made by sewing the lines with thread to make a reserve of colour. That thread is cut off once the fabric is dyed and the fold is sewn again. The gesture of passing the needle in and out thousands of times has been like a meditation mantra.
