Silk, merino wool, paper, methacrylate and mirror

María Zambrano's poem ‘Alga in the Slow Current’, divided and written on pieces of silk fabric, is hidden behind pieces of wool where a sheet of paper creates a weave in which the words form a new structure. Shown through a set of mirrors, which only allow reading it from the intimacy that happens in the search for the perfect angle from which to see it, it reveals to us the full meaning of the title: an alga that, along with past and present events, flows in the growing and unstoppable current of the future.

This piece talks about the journey we make when we are faithful to that which helps us reach for our true self; when we follow our path, even if we do so slowly, despite all the difficulties we encounter, of what we expect, beyond our limitations and our fears. If you don’t stop and wait, if you give everything you have, you contribute to transform reality.
